Lorrain Rucker, paralegal, brings many years of invaluable experience to our office, both in the field of law, and in law enforcement. Following her graduation from University of Colorado, Boulder, and the prestigious Boalt Hall School of Law in Berkeley, Lorrain held several research and writing positions, including clerkships with the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and the Office of Administrative Law Judges, U. S. Department of Labor.
In 1985 she began a career in law enforcement, serving as a patrol officer with the Oakland Police Department, and later as a Sergeant with the Piedmont Police Department. In 1997 Ms. Rucker received the honor of being selected to attend the National Academy at the FBI Academy, a three-month program in Quantico, VA. Lorrain holds advanced and supervisory certificates from the California Commission on Peace Officers Standards and Training (POST).
In 1999, Ms. Rucker returned to the legal field, working as a Paralegal Specialist with the U.S. Postal Service Law Department in San Francisco. Her duties included, among other things, handling unfair labor practice charges filed by Postal employees with the National Labor Relations Board, and discrimination charges filed under the Occupational Safety and Health Act, and assisting attorneys with employment discrimination and adverse employment action cases pending before the EEOC, Merit Systems Protection Board, and federal District Court.
In her leisure time, Ms. Rucker hikes, works out, reads and spends time with her husband enjoying live music, dancing, and dining with friends.
