Shelley O'Brien received her J.D. degree from Stanford University Law School and her undergraduate degree from the University of Denver. She focuses her experience and skill in trial advocacy to obtain big settlements and substantial verdicts for our personal injury clients.
She honed her personal injury skills as an associate lawyer in the firm of the legendary attorney, Melvin M. Belli, representing plaintiffs who had been sexually assaulted, victims of discrimination, and those injured by defective products. While working with Melvin Belli she served as a member of the steering committee for the class action breast implant litigation.
Her appellate work included a sex discrimination case in which the California Supreme Court expanded the reach of the state's anti-discrimination law to "private" country clubs. Warfield v. Peninsula Golf & Country Club (1995) 10 Cal.4th 594.
She also served as a San Mateo County Commissioner on the Commission for Disabilities and spear headed the Youth and Family Committee devoted to addressing the concerns of children with disabilities and their families. In her spare time, she lectures on Disability Rights.
